When do you think is the soonest that apple will drop the price of the iphone? And to what price?

Well, if the 8GB iPhone drops to $299, then the 8GB iPod touch would have to drop to $199 or $249, which might make it hard not to drop the iPod Classic prices too.

I think either we'll see a price drop when the 16GB iPhone is released and a 32GB iPod Touch will accompany it to replace the 16GB and the 16GB will replace the 8GB, or the iPhone prices will stay the same and they'll release an 8GB 3G second generation iPhone at the current price point or $100 higher.

No price drop. With 20,000 iphones being sold every day, Apple appears to have found the sweet spot, so there is no reason to drop the price further. When the next version is released with more storage and maybe 3G, it will sell for the same $399. They'll follow the same plan of the other ipods. Same price but new features.

I don't see Apple maintaining 2 different iphone models like they originally attempted to do with the 4GB and 8GB. What they will do is launch a low end iphone nano to attract people in the entry level phone market.
