To go off on a bit of a tangent from the immediate discussion...

I was in an AT&T store today, primarily to check out the feel of a Note II as having the additional screen real estate has peaked my interest. After some time with the Note II--contrary to my earlier beliefs it does not feel overwhelmingly huge--I noticed at the Nokia display that they had a Lumia 920 on a wireless charging plate. I thought the technology was the same so I plopped down my Nexus 4 on the charger and voila, battery indicator showed it was charging.

I have to admit that while previously thinking it was cool tech but more of a gimmick, I've had a change of heart and found myself really wanting the orb (or whatever it's going to be called) for my Nexus 4. So nice to just drop it down and be able to quickly pick it up and go. Even contemplated getting the Nokia version but the Nexus was a bit wobbly/unsteady on it and would prefer the angled position of the orb vs. flat Nokia charging plate as I also use my mobile phone as an alarm clock.

You can get the Verizon LG charger WCP700. It works well with the Nexus 4 but it makes an annoying beep every time you place it on the charger. I think some people said there's a way to turn that off but I haven't looked into it. There's also the problem of it not staying at 100%. It'll charge up but then stop charging and drop down the cycle again. So you might find your phone not full when you come to pick it up. I can't remember how much it falls but it can't be lower than mid 80%.

Yeah, I'd previously read about it but too much dissatisfaction with the beeps it made and it's huge (and ugly) compared to the orb. It's not a must have for me but I'll admit if I'm still using the Nexus 4 when it's available, I'll probably be picking an orb up.

Is that the same kernel you mentioned earlier where someone was getting insane battery life?

Here are some of the options in his app

Slightly off the current topic but...

You don't really realize the full beauty of the Nexus 4 unless you see someone else using it.

I was watching someone else using it at a restaurant (don't worry, I wasn't being creepy) and it's truly a thing of beauty. The curves, the back panel, the "NEXUS" across the back... it's all very classy looking.

Just wanted to share pictures of the case i got, looks good and it doest feel bulky btw no more phone slide

After MANY tireless efforts to get a working APN in the Nexus 4, and many times giving up only to put my sim in my GS3. I have FINALLY found an APN that works with my current data plan. Needless to say I will be buying a Nexus 4 case from Amazon, and passing my GS3 down to my mom. This way she gets an awesome phone, and we save her upgrade for any possible 2013 phones that might come out. :D
