So this just started happening to me last night, seemingly out of the blue. I use a Nexus 4 with stock 4.4, unrooted. Last night my internet got really poor and unusable, seemingly for no reason. I restarted my router (Airport Extreme - First generation with N) and went to bed. When I got home from work today it was working fine again, until I connect my phone to the WiFi. This killed or extremely slowed down the internet for every device in my house for as long as I was connected to the Wifi with my Nexus 4. Turn off wifi on the phone and the network returns to its normal self on all devices. I have restarted the phone and router a couple more times and tried fooling with the wifi channels as well. I also tested strictly on 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz. Always the same result. I did not download any new apps yesterday, but I did start to download one over 3G while waiting with my daughter for a doctor's appointment, but cancelled it before it could finish or install because we were called into the office. Other than that, nothing has changed on the phone in weeks. The wifi has always been rock solid. I am thinking of restoring the router to factory settings before restoring the phone. Mainly because it is much easier and faster. If that doesn't help, I will probably be forced to restore, which is one area where iOS excels over Android. Unless anyone has any ideas for me to try!
