I have a friend who wants to trade me his nexus 5 for my iPhone 5. Because I can get Google services on my iPhone, what would I gain by going to the nexus 5? Is there some deeper integration then what I'm getting now on my iPhone 5?

I know all the hardware differences and am looking just at how the Google software performs on the nexus vs iPhone.

Thanks.

Obviously there is more integration of Google services on a Nexus device. Google services are more accessible. For example: Google search is a swipe up away from any where.

I would stay with the iPhone. You'll get probably worst battery life on the Nexus.

You'll get better Gmail on Android, more Google Now features and better, better YouTube quality in videos thanks to 720P (I don't know if this has changed recently), better Drive integration (thanks to Android's ability to upload any file type), etc.

YouTube is now 1080p on Android devices. Battery life on the nexus 5 is comparable to the 5s. It shouldn't be a detractor if you are heavily invested in Google services. My university uses google apps and is perfect with my nexus 5.

Had both. The thing I miss the most on my nexus is google now. So much better on android. Also I was able to move around the os much more quickly than iOS.
