It's crazy that 16GB both White and Black are 2-3 weeks and not 1-2 days when ordering on Google Store.

p.s. Red Nexus 5 will come out soon.

Build quality on mine is great. Build quality on my wife's is great as well.

Mine seems fine too. True it's not made of aluminum that dents the first time you drop it and it is certainly plastic, but it's worth it for stock android and the large screen, IMHO

I prefer to be more low-profile when it comes to phone colors, but I might buy this simply because it ships in 1-2 days instead of 2-3 weeks on the other "more normal" colors!

Exactly why I ordered the red over black. 32gb is 4-5 weeks delivery here in the UK, and I prefer red to white.

Oh and I need a phone pretty soon... my iPhone had an unfortunate encounter with the sink... 🙄

"Unfortunate"

Its ok....we know you wanted to switch to the Nexus side. 😉

I did it. I bought the Nexus 5 (32 GB, Black).

I have read most of this thread (sadly) and I have been keeping track of this phone for a very long time. In fact, I was online within seconds of it being added to the Google Play store but for some reason I didn't purchase it then and I'm not sure why. I've used the iPhone and iOS devices since they first came out. Other than the iPhone 5s, I have updated every single year.

Even though I have messed around with a co-workers Nexus 5, I don't know if I will like Android and I'm not sure if I will like the 5" screen. I'm just bored with my iPhone and iOS7 and I keep hearing about Google and Android's advancements. I feel like I'm late to the party (I like to get devices when they first come out) but I feel like I have to give it a shot.

Anyway, I felt like I needed to get that off my chest...

As a former Touchwiz and iPhone user, I feel like I'm kind of in your boat. The Galaxy S3 interface was slow and annoying, so I quickly switched back to the iPhone. It felt comfortable at first, but I felt like it was time for a change. About to ship out the iPhone 5 for good. Feeling okay about it. And hey, if I love what I see in the iPhone 6, I'll switch back for the 6S. By then my contract will long have expired.

That's my exact feeling...If I don't like the larger screen, android, the apps or if the iPhone 6 looks great, I can sell it later.

By the way, I bought the Nexus 5 yesterday afternoon from Google Play...Less than 18 hours later, it's "Out for Delivery"!!

Consider yourself lucky. I bought my 32gb Black Nexus 5 from the Google Play store last Friday and selected overnight shipping. It still has not left the warehouse.

Can AT&T post-paid customers simply pop in their SIM for the N5 and be off and running?

I believe the answer is yes unless perhaps you are coming from iPhone to android, in some cases I've read of problems where one needs to let att know.

Just swapped my Moto X for a Nexus 5 on at&t, just put in NY Sim card and everything seems to be working fine. Though yesterday when I did this data was extremely slow, but today it seems much better. Not sure if that was a problem with my nexus or because I'm getting throttled. I'm still on their old unlimited plan and occasionally I get throttled.

Or, does this tie in to the rumors that the Nexus line is going to be discontinued?

What would a rumor about something that may happen in 2 years have to do with stock of the current Nexus 5? It seems there is currently about a 10-14 day wait time if you order today. Th

I had to walk into the AT&T store, but I just told them I needed to activate a phone. They had a wait, so they gave me a SIM and told me which number to call. They were even kind enough to deal with my calling from the same line I was activating.

Needless to say, I was shocked by the ease of the whole experience.
