The Note 4 does not get better battery life then the Plus, it comes close but it isn't as good, this is a fact and has been established in a few reviews and also benchmark testing aswell. This is obvious once you look at the spec sheet, the Note 4 uses a Snapdragon 805 on a 28nm process node which is noticeably more power hungry then the 20nm Apple A8, and it also has to power a Quad HD display and the GPU has to push more pixels, how hard is it for you to see that lol? fanboy's these day's man..

one thing I do give credit to the Note is the rapid charging, that is very convinient and nice and somewhat reduces the fact it has lower battery life

"The battery performance on the Note 4 isn't quite as good as the Galaxy Note 3 then (which lost 13% in the same test), but with day-to-day usage you're unlikely to notice much of a difference."

One of many reviews saying virtually the same thing. And you do realize GSMarena and PhoneArena are associated with each other lol? what a fail..

"Samsung's Galaxy Note phones have a well-deserved reputation for delivering long endurance. The new Galaxy Note 4 looks to keep that streak going, packing a high-capacity 3,200-mAh battery. While good, it’s runtime isn’t best in class.

"On our battery test, which involves continuous surfing over 4G at 150 nits brightness with background data and other radios turned off, the Note 4 lasted 8 hours and 43 minutesWhile the new phablet's staying power is long enough to provide all-day power for most normal users, it's behind several competitors, including the Galaxy S5 and iPhone 6 Plus."

aaand Anandtech's review on the Note 4, showing it gets too less battery life then the Plus...

if you want to get taken seriously around here on these forums, I suggest you post with credibility and use reliable sources and reputable sources. One of many reviews and websites saying essentially the same thing as posted above.

/thread

And like I say when does surfing web is the indicator for battery life like in 2 references (anand and tom) you gave? Why dont we use video playback as the only factor for battery life. In this case Note4 will thrash the 6plus.

Its overall battery life, are you watching videos most the time? Or are you browsing the web/in apps/or texting?

OLED screens are actually alot more power efficient when watching videos then LCD's, the Note 4 does last longer on video playback and talk time but thats it, the Plus on average will have more on screen time on a single charge then the Note 4, (both can play videos for over 11 hours straight anyway)

LCD's are much more power efficient when viewing whites then OLED's... (you know most of webpages you visit and your average browser/app has a white background)

Considering 99% of people are most likely not watching videos on their phones majority of the day, LCD wins out here and gives the Plus a advantage alongside with the 20nm Apple A8, its not like the Plus blows out the Note 4 battery life thats not what i am saying at all, obviously it doesnt...but it does offer a bit better battery life then the Note 4 ..thats all

That even you can concede to this extent, then most probably we can safely say the Note4 has a better battery life than 6+. :p

Anyway let's not side track this thread.

English?

My buddies Note 4 runs out of battery before my 6 plus, we can attest to Anandtech having the more accurate test.

I have also put Anandtech to the test on my iPads and they all get very close if not exceed sometimes Anandtechs results.

Sometimes I laugh at the other sites, its not like I don't have a 6 +. I understand very well its battery life.

PhoneArena is a joke. I have 2 friends who purchased phones based of their reviews and they were shocked to find out their phones performed drastically different. Real world vs internet bs.

what are you a baby lmao, and how exactly are we side tracking the thread, were discussing battery life, and the results in the Anandtech chart and talking about flagship devices battery lifes lol..Nexus 6 and Note 4 share same exact SoC and Quad HD resolution , with basically same battery capacity(screen being a bit bigger on N6 obviously more of a drain)

I have a few friends with 6+. At heavy usage, their 6+ ran out of juice faster than my Note4. We can attest to that. I am not sure how anandtech does its battery test but it is totally off.

hmmm... how naive can one's assumption be. :p

Bs.

Like when does Web browsing is the only activity can determine battery life.

How about something that more resembles actual real life usage. From phonearena.

That's not close to real life usage. I use my iPhone 6 HEAVILY and I get a lot better battery life than this chart shows.

Be a hypocrite much? :p
You mean Anandtech? That's where the chart is from showing the Huawei beating the 6+.
They will be sure to omit Samsung device from the chart when it has better results.

Don't tell me you are using the over inflated and useless "usage time" figure.

Saying apple affiliated anandtech has more credibility than others is sure sign that someone is a fanboy.

You've spent 2 years spamming these boards with anti Apple, pro Android nonsense - including this recent post basically saying iOS is for morons who can't handle technology and Android is for intelligent people. You contribute absolutely nothing with the trolling.

You have zero credibility. Unless you're being paid by Google, you really need to reevaluate your life.

The only one being hypocritical here is you.

I will say this.....what features you have on or off determines your battery life. If your friends with a 6+ have everything on compared to a note 4 with almost nothing on....of course the note 4 will out perform the 6+ in battery. Anyway, the point of what Im saying is each phone has different features turned on or off....so comparing battery life with friends is not a good measurement.

With the 64 bit a8, was there any doubt?

None at all.

And what a joke that phonearena "custom battery test" the other guy posted is. The iPhone 6 Plus only has marginally better battery life than the 6? Yeah right.

I'll never understand why someone like him who obviously can't stand the iPhone spends his time on an iPhone message board calling all of the users "sheep", "idiots", etc. I hope he's actually being paid for all of that effort, it's pathetic if he isn't.

Really. Why don't you believe what I said but you blindly believe the one who said he has friends with note4?

Who is the hypocrite?

Your statement has logic and sense in it. A drop in a sea of fanatical insults and nonsensical statements.

Because I tested a note 4 personally.

It's obvious you haven't spent any time with the iPhone 6+.
