Also too, it seems some of the games exclusive to the nvidia shield like half life 2 and portal work with the N9 with some tweaking.

Won't lie the back bleed is there. The real drawback of the Nexus 9

Sounds great with possible Half Life 2. I just feel like a tablet, which is pretty much a screen, should have a spot on screen with no errors. Can't stand backlight bleeding. Especially as I watch a lot of movies/clips/tv on a tablet. It is a consumption device - therefore this experience should be top notch.

I'll see if it effects me over time but I haven't really paid attention to it yet.

SUPPOSEDLY the newer ones in production keep lack bleed to a minimum and buttons on the side are not as recessed as the first models.

No telling how to differentiate newer ones from older without opening the box and checking for oneself. Maybe check and see if XDA has some insight on that.

And when pressed for major duty, the Nexus 9 gets hot not just warm.

Yea I read into that. Obviously I have the older model. I wonder if they'll allow a trade in within a certain period of time.

Thanks, I did get it from Best Buy

Not sure if they'll let you exchange it or not, but you could return and then buy a different unit if they try to give you a hard time. Do you know if the revised version has a different model number (a la Nexus 5)?

The A8X chip is no joke. The best mobile chip on the market. Also I hope you were referring to the iPad Air 2 because the Nexus 9 beats the iPad Air.

One of the best, not THE best, but IMO the X chips Apple makes for the iPads are a hell of a lot better than the normal ones! Our iPad 3 seemed to be better than the Retina iPad Mini I had! And having played with an Air 2 I got the same feeling.

The problem with benchmark scores here is you are crossing devices and oses. It is possible to "cheat" your scores. Several manufacturers including Apple over the years have been caught cheating to improve their scores.
By cheating the intentional optimize things to improve their score. Optimization that often have no benefit than increasing their scores.

Ah yes i remember reading about ole sammy cheating. However not so sure about apple cheating at any time in the past.

Another N9 owner here, only had it >24 hours, but very impressed so far.

Set up a 2nd user for the missus (she has Nexus 5) and grabbed all my old apps from my Galaxy Nexus days. Super quick tablet, smooth and lollipop is fantastic so far. I can't stand touchwiz and can highly recommend this tablet so far.

Won't be gaming much with this, more for work and travel..

If anyone has any specific questions for the N9, let me know, will be grabbing a case and tempered glass before I start bringing it to work.
