With Samsung's e-Fuse (Knox) basically as soon as thats tripped either rooting, flashing modified rom - it basically renders all secure access features broken and unrepairable which amounts to No more finger-print scanner, No more samsung pay, no more Knox environment.

hopefully nexus does not take that approach, its hard to imagine they would given the kind of people that like nexus
as far as I am concerned, a fresh flash of a firmware image leaves any former security concerns in the dust. Sure leave the efuse tripped, but that doesnt mean the integrity of the software is damaged forever, very silly.
Funny how the tables have flipped and Apple is easier on the rooters over samsung now
For example, when jailbreaking you have no access whatsoever to the secure enclave, so no damage is done. I suppose since the iphone bootloader is always locked, perhaps unlocked bootloader does allow some kind of access to the enclave? That seems silly, just lock it down and dont let anyone touch the enclave, surely it is possible even with unlocked bootloader. The problem is moreso likely that samsung doesnt care and took the technically 'easy' way out
funny how you always have root access on windows PC's out of the box with fingerprint scanners and there are no issues. I wonder if this is done out of fear of lawsuits particularly because of their in house payment system?

I'm in the UK and placed my Nexus 5 order on October 31st. Google announce Nexus products in October.
Yeap, Google announced the Nexus 6 October 15th, you seemed to be implying they didn't? I didn't know if you were talking about when Google announce products or when you can buy them?
Yeah the announcement was in October but I couldn't get the Nexus 6 in hand until exactly 2 months later. I'm not really down with these announcements which then take 2 whole months to end up tangible.
Much prefer how Apple do it - announce, 10 days later they are in hand (well, the iPhones anyway!).

I have not really been following the rumors thus far on the new nexus, but is it in fact the nexus 5 2015 and not the nexus 7? Did they officially revert to screen size?
It seems so, but who knows...
There allegedly will be 2 phones - an LG 5.2" screen, and a Huawei 5.7" screen.
Plus there already was a Nexus 7 (the tablet). Maybe they will come up with a new naming strategy altogether.
They should just go with screen size since the nexus 7 and 10 both were named based on that.
Nexus G? Nexus Plus?
EDIT: Now that I think about it, naming them this could actually be a good tribute to Google+.

I agree, I was going to say the 808 wasn't a 64 bit chip but it seems it is, the 620 is a next gen chip though and better soo...

Interesting. I'm holding up my G4 to the screen to compare because this pic seems to be pretty much the real life size on my MacBook. I can deal with that size for sure.
The only thing I'd say is the top/bottom bezels are very different to the usual LG feel. That is probably because of the speakers. That adds extra height - in fact, is very iPhone like in shape.
And the back render looks fine to me, I know people will want beautiful backs but I'd take functional, thanks!

Is it me or are the end bezels at different lengths? Like the Nexus 5 was?
Top and bottom bezels definitely not typical lg, I can't really tell if they are asymmetric. There were some comments that thought that on reddit.
I'm a little disappointed if it turns out to be qhd with the 808, would prefer stronger 620 Gpu if we have to go qhd. Battery size is a bigger question mark with qhd too. Probably over analyzing because all 808 phones use qhd currently.

Yeah can't tell with those bezels, I'm still hoping for a 620 CPU, wonder if the phone will be announced in September as we are getting a lot of leaks? Or will they stick with October? When is Android 6 out?
