It's great and easier to search for photos.

You don't need the latest system update to enjoy the latest versions on GAPPs.
Yep was just about to say it's three same as it is in lollipop on any device should you close to use it :)

I like photos but as a quick device to look only at photos on the device (if you use Google photos like I do to save my photos to three cloud and noted have online library of thousands) it can sometimes be a pain and in those instances I would recommend three lines of quickpic for a light weight photo browser too.

With this video, there are already a hundred of professional Android fanboys... sorry, Android YouTubers making videos trying to show that the phone does not bend... where they make faces, noises, twist their arms, you name it, to show how much they were trying to bend their $700 phone... or not...

OK how about someone doing it with weights? Hardly scientific, but you can't claim the 90 lbs is fake pressure. Brings this pretty close to what we were seeing with the 6S. Nowhere close to that original video, which I am convinced now the phone was tampered with. The person posting the original video runs a phone repair business.

This bendgate thing has been discussed to death on reddit...

Let's just say the heat from that lighter weakened the glue that holds the screen and glass together. Is it possible that is the essential piece for the integrity of the 6p? Possibly yes. The bend point was very near where it got lit up. The crack that appeared when jerryeverything guy tapped it probably didn't help matters. Anyway, most folks will put a case on it so meh.

Made a big score tonight. Scored a Google special edition Nexus 6P black 64GB. Bought it for $600 on Craigslist. The box it came in is all metal and weighs about 12 pounds. It's heavy! The guy said his brother works for Google and he gets free stuff all the time.

First impressions are very favorable. The fingerprint scanner is extremely fast. You don't have to push a button to unlock/wake the screen. The fingerprint scanner does it for you. It will take some getting used to the scanner being on the back. But works just as fast as my Note 5 or 6s plus.
The sound is amazing with the front facing speakers.

The camera seems to be good but the Google camera software us not my favorite. I prefer the software on my Note 5.
I will take some shots tomorrow and post them. But here is Molly.

I will post more thoughts tomorrow when I have had time to go through everything.

I received my Nexus 6p yesterday. I have been using it for about 24 hours. To me it runs better than any android device I have ever owned. No lag , quick and reponsive. The battery life is not better than a iOS device but it is definetly better than a Samsung phone. The screen is very colorful but the brightness is dimmer than my iPhone 6s Plus. The build quality is great. The Nxus 6P is light and less slippery than my iPhone. The iPhone does have a better build quality. For a device that is $200 cheaper it's a solid device. The software is bloat free and that is the reason I got a nexus. Samsung has some nice feature they add with touch wiz but my Sammy phones always end up having some kind of issues after the updated OS from Google comes out. I feel like I have the best of both worlds. Kid in a candy store. Lol. If you are on the fence about buying a nexus 6p. I would say it is worth the price.

Ok, 48 hours in I've looked long and hard for something to dislike about the 6p and all I can come up with is I wish the power button was a bit firmer to the touch. It takes very little pressure to activate and I've had to disable the double press camera launch for the moment because I keep inadvertently opening the camera. Otherwise, all I can say is wow!

Sadly, I'm getting virtually zero LTE on Project Fi at my home and the P-Fi savings was my justification for this purchase. While I have wifi 98+% of the time, the prospect of no data if I lose power - the very time you need it most - is troubling. Hate, hate Verizon but I may have to stay with them. Now, how to explain to the wife that I need keep this phone anyway... #firstworldproblems

90lbs is nothing? Specially on that "test" where the weight is spread through the screen!

90lbs was what the 6+ took without bending.

If the 6+ had the bendgate, so does this!

Can't wait to receive my 6p but I'm worried about the size. About USB c. And about the camera experience compared to the s6.

I honestly may not keep it despite the glowing reviews.

Might speak differently when it's in hand though.

Why is this still being discussed? Anyone putting 90lbs of pressure on a phone with regular use, they have some issues. If you take care of your phone, and aren't careless the phone will be fine. Let's move on. This is very tired. I have been hearing about phones bending for the last year. Let's come up with something else please.

Yeah - you can only know by trying. :) Google have a very generous 15 day return window thankfully anyway. I get my Aluminium version on Tuesday (my friend is on the other side of the country so will send it to me via courier on Monday) and then I'll decide which I prefer colour wise.

How come yours doesn't have FCC info on the bottom panel at the back ? Looks better without it - but is that because it was a promo device ?

Yeah exactly. This is a test run. I love my s6. It'll be hard to top. We'll see come mid/late November.

so some people are saying battery life is great. But those with an iPhone 6s/6 Plus does it match the mammoth battery life of those phones?

Also, does the phone get hot easily, especially when browsing the net or playing games, or making calls of longer than 5 mins?

I have only had mine for12 hours so can't speak about battery yet. But while restoring all my apps and playing with it till 2am last night it never got hot once.

Agree!

I was just commenting the reactions to this video vs the famous "bendgate" video.

I'm actually having a lot of second thoughts.

It sounds like the s6 screen and camera experience (quality, the app itself, and the camera features) all sound better on the s6. I love the s6 screen (including brightness adjuster - it can drop really low when using it in the dark and it can get really bright when using it in sunlight).

Does the 6p compare? It seems like it is just under the s6 in these two departments. The camera is especially important to me. No OIS on a "premium" device bothers me.

But also... I hate losing wireless charging. I love the convenience and the fact that I can top off my battery while the device is on my table (at home and at work). As mentioned before, I love that USB c is future proof but I'm not ready to go there yet personally. I don't wanna spend money on new cables for the office, the car, etc. Plus, it'll mean my wireless chargers are now useless. That doesn't make me happy.

Also, form factor. The 6p is gonna be huge to me coming from a s6. I've seen comparison videos. I don't know if I can handle it. It'll essentially eliminate one handed use which really sucks. I use my s6 one handed on the train often (need the other hand to hold onto the hand bars, or a work bag, etc). Also, I use it laying down at night in bed often (or in the mornings) and the s6 already can be hard to hold upside down. The 6p would be ridiculous.

Lastly, I'm just not that impressed with stock android. I'll miss the immediate access to quick toggles from touch wiz and the ability to customize it. There are a few other things that i like on touchwi tok. Obviously there are advantages to stock, but I don't know if it's enough to make up for the things I'd be losing overall. I don't need immediate updates and often early updates can also mean early bugs. Devices these days work phenomenally well that waiting for software updates just aren't that meaningful. Plus Google apps update all year round independently. A clean and lean OS is always great, but my s6 isn't plagued that badly with the ram management issue. I don't cycle through apps like that - I usually have two or three main ones. Anything more, I can wait for that extra millisecond of refresh it does. Just isn't a big deal to me. Shrug.

Plus, because I got the 128gb, I am dropping $700+ for this device. That's a heavy price even if it is a great value. Not happy about spending that sorta money...

I'm considering canceling... But because Google's return policy is so friendly, I'm hanging on to the order. But having serious second thoughts. I might have just gotten impulsive and caught up with the hype.

Thoughts from fellow phone lovers? Especially those with the s6?

One more thing: I'm convinced the 6p will not age well. I've warmed up to that hump but what will it look like in a year's time? I don't believe it'll be favorable.

I could be wrong.

Your are spot on about the camera. I think it is capable of taking great shots. But the camera app is holding it back. The camera app on the S6 is going to better a big step up from Google's.
It is a big phone right on par with the iPhone 6s plus.
I know there will be a ton of development for this phone. I am looking forward to CyanogenMod to get ported. I think it will unleash more features.
