Have you a link to the toolkit ?

http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/

Once everything is set up, under Advanced there is a button for Flashing OTA. It will ask you to point to the file. Get the right version from here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus6P/comments/3w03lc/heres_the_ota_update_601/

NRT is nice in that it makes sure all your drivers are installed, adb is working, does some spot checking, etc. If you already have all that going and are comfortable with adb, you can just flash the OTA files linked above like this.

Install adb and fastboot.

Power off phone

Power on holding power+vol down

Use volume keys to select recovery mode then hit power to select

Once the KOd droid is on the screen press and hold power and tap volume up, as soon as you see a menu popup let go of power.

Select "Apply updated from ADB"

Connect to your computer and make sure the OTA .zip is in the ADB folder.

Run command "adb sideload <filename.zip>"

Anyone still waiting like I am for the 6.0.1 OTA update ? I even went to the extreme of taking my sim out, erasing my phone and setting it up fresh without the sim to see if it would then prompt me for it, but nope .... :(

Did the exact same thing yesterday but no new OTA.

... Then this evening without prompting the update appeared.

At least I'm in good company ...

The 5x suffices fine for me at $299.

I'm actually waiting on a price break on the Samsung Edge +. I make my rounds to various retailers playing with it so I don't wear out my welcome at only one or two places. :)

I really like it the more I try it out, maybe I should stay away from retailers but I cannot help myself (no one can hanging out on this forum)! :)

From what I read the 5X throttles CPU after 2 minutes of hard use. Why use a SoC that does this is lost on me!!!

Any comparisons between the iPhone 6s Plus and Nexus 6P in relation to ergonomics, size, one-handed use, and weight? They are basically the same size, with the 6P being a tad longer, and the iPhone weighing more. I imagine I’d be a bit disappointed with both after trialing the S6 Edge+.

I'm trying to decide for myself between an iPhone 6s Plus, Nexus 6P, and a Samsung S6 Edge+/Note 5. I’m trialing the Edge+ now, and I find it really the best piece of mobile hardware I’ve ever used. It’s a perfect size for me. Beautiful, huge screen, yet I can comfortably use it in one hand and reach most of the screen. It fits in my pockets well enough. And it’s really light (much lighter than 6s Plus). Unfortunately, the software has rough edges after coming from iOS. I’ve never used Android continuously, and while it’s has improved dramatically, there are many things I miss from iOS. If only you could use iOS on the Samsung hardware… :)

Feel identical in size but lighter weight with chamfered edges makes it a bit grippier. I find they're both slippery still but the 6p has a small advantage.

The Edge+ is IMO the best looking device this year and my favorite from a hardware perspective. I'm just not personally a fan of the UX/UI and place a higher lever of importance on smoothness and performance over features. Obviously this is a strength of iOS but I prefer the UI on Android as well as the Google Ecosystem so the Nexus devices are a good fit for me.

Samsung devices have great features but require a learning curve which can be off putting for some, but can't live without for others. Stock Android is more intuitive due to its simplicity.

In the end, there are things we sacrifice in favor of others but you really have to try to see for yourself. Google has an extended return policy atm so its a good time to try it out.

I concur. Personally speaking.

Size wise they are all much of a muchness. But from an aesthetics PoV the Edge + has a greater 'wow' factor.

That being said I too value performance and consistency over aesthetic, likewise my terrible Samsung after support with the original Edge has also detracted a lot of my trust & faith in Samsung.

When we're paying ridiculous money for handsets these days after support has become a big factor for me, and it's where Samsung (at least here in Ireland) really fall flat on their face. Offering a more frustrating after sales experience than OnePlus takes some doing, but they achieved it.

As for the 6P & 6S+ they too are much of a muchness size wise and even weight wise. Both need cases, as without they are both very slippery (accidents waiting to happen).

Performance has been rock solid on both, neither experiencing any warmth / heat when under heavy load compared to the likes of the Moto X Style or M9

Battery life is good on both but the S6+ is better here, but still get a full day with the 6P

Speakers on the 6P are better being stereo front facing.

Reception and cellular quality are near identical on Vodafone here.

Either is a good choice, but if saving a few $$ is important then the 6P clearly is cheaper, however the 6S+ will hold its resale value longer.

That being said the Edge + does have overall a better screen/display and camera - so bare that in mind if you do switch that this is a concession you are choosing for a more consistent software experience, though also realise a 'nexus' device can be very barebones on the software side if you are used to more options in your android launcher.

As stated above, why not simply try it out and return if you don't find it suitable. Googles return policy is very lenient in this regard.

Due to a few shortcomings here and there, and in light of the growing S7 hype machine, I think I'm throwing in the towel on the 6P.

I'm in the same boat. I sold my 6P for pretty much what I bought it for. Will be waiting for CES on 1/05 and see what Samsung has to offer with the S7. I have a jump available on my TMO account so S7 here I come.

Yeah only difference I've supported so far is video playback color bug is fixed. Otherwise it's still as speedy and as fast as ever.

At least for me, Ambient Display is actually functional now with the update. I had turned it off before it was so useless.

Yesterday after recieving an annoying unsolicited phone call from my bank offering life insurance or something I went into my recent calls in order to block that caller from bothering me again.
Anyway, I noticed on my phone (a Nexus 6P) there was no option to block caller, while my friend (who has a Nexus 5X) has that option.
I wonder why his phone would offer that option but not mine?
We're both running 6.0.1.
BTW I do realise there are apps in the Playstore to do the same thing, but still it seemed odd his Nexus 5X can do this out of the box but not my 6P.

Hmm I have it. Go to recent history > click the number > click call details > block option is there for me

Make sure the dialer is updated. It was moved the play store last week with the update.

I believe you're correct on this. However, I don't see the app at the Play store at the moment.
From what I read online the app was apparently in the store then pulled.
I'll look again tomorrow.
Thanks.

Just in time for Christmas.... the Anandtech 6p review is up:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/9820/the-google-nexus-6p-review

Lots of interesting stuff about the Qualcomm performance this year in Android phones. Very interesting recommendation for US vs Europe prices. Definitely echos what I have seen around the forums. Shame that Google didn't price this about the same in all markets. For the US prices, I thought the 6p was a great buy. I totally get why my European friends have reservations though.
