Unless there is an act of God, this one is over. Even though Green Bay outplayed the Eagles, it was two missed field goals that decided the game. David Akers has been one of the best kickers in football over the last decade and he's had a very good season this year, but it just wasn't to be. Sucks to lose because you missed two FGs.

Eagles need to tighten up the defense for next year as they weren't very good this year, but it still wasn't their fault (at least directly).

After all the talk...
so much for the Saints and Drew Brees
so much for the Eagles and Michael Vick

Neither get a chance to take down the Falcons

The Falcons v Packers should be a great game
Just like the last time they were in the Dome earlier in the year
This game should decide the NFC because I think the winner takes out the Bears - Seahawks winner

Not too excited about that bears seahawks game.

Packers falcons game should be really exciting. Want the falcons to win but they would just steam roll through...I'm a ravens fan haha.

agreed, that last game was tight and two of the best teams in the league. The pack now may have some semblance of a rushing game, should be a good one

If the Eagle's O had played better they would've put 6 on the board instead of calling Akers in off the bench. I know people like to try and find the one person or one play that won/lost the game but the Eagles losing today was way more involved than two missed kicks. Honestly, IMO, Vick's game-ending pick was a more costly mistake. At that down and distance and w/enough time on the clock for 3-4 plays Vick should've stayed patient.

Hopefully Falcons/Packers will be good ... however it could be a little one-sided.

Falcons/Bears seems probable and more appealing for the NFC marbles.

I understand what you are saying, and I don't disagree. You are absolutely correct, as it is a team sport. For the last decade, we've always considered Akers to be pretty automatic though. It just hurts that he missed 2 FGs and we lost by 5.

Early picks...

Ravens at Steelers
Should be a great game... old fashioned slobber-knocking football
In the end I like Big Ben over Flacco at crunch time
Steelers

Jets at Patriots
I don't think it will be as one sided as the last meeting
But I don't think the Jets can hang with the Pats
Patriots

Seahawks at Bears
Seahawks pulled the upset of the century
But now they have to play on the road and not at Qwest
Bears

Packers at Falcons
Should be a close game with 2 great teams
Green Bay is playing very well again on both sides of the ball
Falcons, cause they are my team and at home

Oh, come on, not even 1 upset?

Ravens over Steelers, but that's not really an upset with two teams with same regular season record. Ravens can beat anybody in the AFC.

There's a small possibility that Seattle can beat Chicago, and that would be the other upset. Beyond Chicago, I don't hold my breath for Seattle.

Atlanta, no...Pats, no
, both move forward without a doubt.

It's hard to imagine this being anything other than a Pats-Falcons Super Bowl. And from there I think it will be the Falcons. If any other NFC team plays, then I give it to the Pats. The only other NFC team I would have put money on to beat the Pats would have been the Super Bowl defending champ Saints, but they are out. I can't see anybody besides Atlanta having any chance against New England at this point.

I wouldn't underestimate the Packers
They are hot and playing well on both sides of the ball
The Falcons barely beat them at home in the regular season and will have their hands full

The Ravens and Steelers is a toss up
The others are pretty sure, Pats over Jets and Bears over Seahawks

I can see the Ravens beating the Steelers. Pats will take the Jets. I like the Falcons to beat the Packers but it should be a good game. And I see no reason why the Bears won't ends the Seahawks parade.

The Seahawks did defeat da Bears at Soldier field in the regular season. Not really relevant though: it was after Seattle had a week off, and meteorological conditions were probably much more more hospitable in the third week of October than they will be in the third week in January.

If Seattle gets past Chicago, the announcers will be calling that the big playoff upset and short memory will have all of us believe the NO defeat wasn't that big of a deal. Seattle has been making history the moment they entered the playoffs as a division winner with a 7-9 record.

The underrated team of the NFC which has the better chance is Green Bay. I am not so sure they can go all the way, but it all depends which Green Bay team shows up in this postseason. Rodgers is the top rated QB in NFL history if he were to retire today, so I hope the rest of the team can put up great numbers (high and low).

for the packers, it will all depend on the receivers making catches and the offense not turning the ball over. I think starks will be utilized after the good showing yesterday, but hopefully mcarthy realizes passing will be the key to winning in hotlanta. The defense needs to hold the dirty birds potent offense to 24 or less for a chance to win I think.

the steelers, ravens game is a tossup to me. Both teams are strong I give the steelers a slight edge for being at home but the ravens are hot coming off the big win in KC.

the pats should roll. But the NO/SEA game shows you anything is possible in a lose and you're out tournament, the thing that scares me about the pats is that if they win big this game I have a feeling they will roll the rest of the way.

weather should play a factor in chicago, if it's nice weather and the seahawks offense is rolling I say bears better not underestimate them. but the bears should be able to control them with their tough defense

The Seattle win over New Orleans would still be a bigger upset than a win over the Bears IMO. NO was one missed kick from being the number one seed and 13-3. The Bears are a good team, but they are not the defending SB champs. And as pointed out above, the Seahawks have already beaten the Bears at Chicago this year in week 6.

I agree that GB has the potential to drop the Falcons and go to the SB
And they proved they could play with NE even without Rodgers
I believe the winner of the Falcon/Packer game goes to the SB

agreed and it shows you how important playing all the way through week 17 is.

I know I'm not the only one whose team got eliminated this weekend. What are you plans to finish out the season? Are you the type of person who believes once their team is out, the season it over? Or do you continue to watch the rest of the games? Do you pick a team or two to root for? Do you sit back and just enjoy it with not real rooting interest? If you cheer for a team, then who? And why? Obviously if your team is still in contention then we know your plans. What about the rest of you?

I will continue to watch every game. I'm picking a team in each conference to follow and root for. If either gets eliminated, I'll just pick another. I like having someone to root for. It makes the games more exciting for me when I'm cheering for a specific outcome.

In the NFC, I'm picking the Seahawks. I'm not picking them to win, I'm just picking them as a team to root for. Who doesn't like a good underdog story? If they lose, and they probably will, I'll have local boy Matt Ryan (born 20 minutes from my house) and the Atlanta Falcons to take their place.

In the AFC, I'm cheering on the Ravens. Joe Flacco is my from alma mater so I have a soft spot for the guy. He took us to the championship game even though we came up a little short. He's probably the second best QB to ever come out of Delaware and has a chance to be the best ever.
