So....you have a cable login.
...and that worked on the other ATV's also.

What's your point?
I'm confused

And why aren't you watching on your cable?
Someone else paying the bill?
The question on this ATV forum by the OP was how to watch NFL "legally". Multiple people were giving answers. The reason to watch content on the ATV is to drop the cost of the hardware. Most believe the content needs to be purchased from someone to be legal. Other then OTA which is not for everyone. Regarding hardware I pay $67 per month. I am not 3/4 the way there for the content my wife and/or I prefer to keep watching.

Right, but you can't legally watch NFL on WatchESPN without using a shared login or with having ESPN already available to you anyways through your cable/sat sub.

Isn't the spirit of "watch on the Apple TV" to do it without a cable/sat provider with OTT or free streaming options?

In either case, MNF is sort of it's own animal since its ESPN, which none of the rest of NFL games are on.

It may to some and I assume to you but not to me. I am looking for a better viewing experience. I think the idea is choice and a elegant hardware/software interface where all of your content is available on any device you choose. That to me is the "spirit" of the Apple TV / iPad / iPhone eco system. Use Hulu for an example. I can now watch 70% of what I was recording my DVR without commercials for only $12 per month. And Hulu can be on all of my devices. I also have the CBS All Access App which gives me another 10% but I have to set thru commercials (50% less but still) which I would hate to do. My wife has shows she watches as well that she requires a DVR to watch on her schedule and continue watching commercial free. Again, to get everything we want "legally" we are required to pay for it. And even if I could go OTA that would not give me or my wife 100% of what both of us want. The Apple TV is an excellent interface and I agree with Tim it is the foundation for a New TV Experience like nothing available to date.

Ok. But for NFL, as you'd mentioned....the point of this thread, honestly the best legal solution really is NFL gamepass UK with VPN/unlocator. Simply the best way to pay for and watch all the NFL games with the least fuss (using AirPlay).

Besides, the OP couldn't see the game at all...not sure he wanted "elegant hardware & software" - I think he just wanted to actually see the game.

The OP may not have a UVERSE Package where he can watch ESPN and/or NBC Sports. Not sure what he was trying to do. Others posted that on ATV these are two options for Sunday Night and Monday Night NFL Football if you have the right to do so.
Regarding your VPN solution. I do not care personally but from a legal standpoint you may not be correct. The point is the NFL should allow US to have access like they do in the UK but they do not. Probably a licensing issue but who knows. Personally I am considering getting a TIVO Bolt "IF" they provide an App for the ATV 4 like they do for the FIRE TV. That way I can still record everything and still use the ATV for those things I have to have a DVR for. Which is getting smaller and smaller. And the new SKIP Commercial Option looks pretty good. Bottom line I feel there should be an option like Hulu for everything. Anything you watch on demand (not live) should be commercial free. Then the need for DVR's will reduce significantly. But it will not be free but it would be legal and really great.

Why the hell would I have to have cable?
The point of this post is NFL football is available on the Apple TV!

Oh and I am paying the bill. Don't always assume the worst buddy! Think before you accuse.

Live streaming of games works with a Gamepass International on the ATV. Like someone else said here, purchase a VPN or use a smart DNS such as Unblock-us, then purchase the International Gamepass for another country such as Australia, log in on the official NFL app on ATV, and done! all games live no blackouts.

Wouldn't it be nice if the NFL offered this for its most loyal fans without going through all of this bs. The same goes for baseball. I heard this is being eased a little bit for baseball.
