Anyone here using the NHL app on their Watch? Mine is stuck showing scores from May 19. I tried rebooting both phone and Watch, uninstalled and reinstalled both phone and Watch apps and nothing worked. iPhone app is working fine.

Curious if anyone else is seeing this issue. Thanks.

same.
The app was unistalled on the watch, then the phone.
reinstalled the app on the phone, restarted the watch and added NHL.
Still stuck on May 18.

Last 2 seasons I felt the NHL app was nicely refined and the interface between the phone and watch was very good.
With the ESPN take over not so much.

By the way, if you want to stream ESPN+ and are on verizon, look at a newer plan that has 12 months of disney+, hulu and ESPN+ included. You only need to change 1 line.

Thanks for the replies… I’ll shoot the dev a line on the App Store and hopefully I get a response. It’s absolutely useless in its current state. The ESPN Watch app only shows scores of favorited teams.

I have ATT DirectTV Stream and being a previous NHLTV subscriber, I took the ESPN+ subscription this year. Opening night (Islanders fan here), the game was blacked out on the local (MSG) networks and ESPN+. I was absolutely livid. I had to find the stream on MSGGO and cast to my AppleTV which is never as good as watching direct. Only thing I like about ESPN is the old school theme music for NHL on ESPN lol.

I have the app on my iPhone and have notifications sent to my watch. I didn't put the app on my watch but I just tried and it's stuck like you've described.. By the way Hawks fan here.. Hawks/Islanders tomorrow!

My Islanders ain’t looking too good lately and the Flower scares me lol. Best of luck!

I emailed the dev and posted on the App Store reviews. Hopefully it gets fixed. Thanks for checking.

Hawks tickets are one of the best tickets to sell when they come to AZ. The place is packed with Chi fans

The only Islander that showed up for the first 40 minutes was Sorokin. They were getting dominated for the first two periods. Look at the shot count lol.
only thing that matters is the far right column of the box score.
the rest is just details.

Heads up, in case anyone is interested, the Chel app on the Watch finally updated. Not sure when it happened but just checked now and it’s showing the latest scores.

It’s possible to use native REST and GraphQL (through REST) on watchOS without additional frameworks or communicating with the phone.

SwiftUI seems to hint at merging iOS and watchOS, but the Combine framework is buggy and not as intuitive as WatchKit or UIKit.

Writing a WatchKit app is simple but it requires a senior engineer dedicated to watchOS.

If you’re having trouble with watchOS, my best guess is that the developers aren’t prioritizing watchOS over iOS, which would make sense from a financial standpoint.

They’re probably communicating with the phone via Bluetooth for updates.

Does the issue only happen when you’re away from your phone?

Appreciate the detailed reply but I actually never tried it while away from my phone so I couldn’t tell ya. However, it did eventually correct itself as per my post right before yours ?
