I've never had this happen before. I had a nifty drive and I"d close my laptop (top down) and let it go to sleep mode. Open the lid back up the next day to use it and everything is fine.

I changed to a new macbook air (2017 from a 2011?), and now when I open the lid from sleeping, it says that I have to "Properly Eject Nifty drive or risk damage/losing data".

( I forgot the exact wording, but basically, I have to open Finder, click on my NIFTY DRIVE, hit eject, before going to sleep mode. )

That never happened before. Does that happen w/ anyone else?

    It could be 2 things...
    1) new 2017 macbook air.
2), one of the strips on the nifty drive (black strips) peeled off accidentally, which might cause this to happen for some reason? But the drive still works and I can use data off of ti....
