Night mode and moving subjects

I guess night mode is only useful on static objects, right? because my pics are blurry if someone or something moves.. the camera asks to hold still but on certain situations I can't ask the person or subject not to move.
Best to turn off night mode then

Yes. Night mode keeps the shutter open for much longer to let in more light, but as with any camera, a longer shutter time will introduce blur on motion
