This was in the dark. Is night mode supposed to do this? It creates a fantasy daylight pic and dispatched of all the darkness.

Nope this is how night mode should be. You must’ve had more than adequate lighting there. Do you have an alternative picture with night mode off?

It was quite dark there among the bushes. Later on I took a pic somewhere else with more lighting from the streets and dark mode off.

That doesn’t even look like the same time or place. Your first picture looks like more of dusk time whereas the this one looks like more late evening.

As i said in my post, it is not the same place as I already crossed a street and continued my walk. This is where my dog walk every evening is so it’s closeby alright. I can assure you it is the same time, but not as dark because the building I am photographing is closer up and the artificial lighting from the streets and street lanterns out of sight help.

Anyway I can see this is going nowhere so I’ll just keep testing.
