Night Mode was wonky on my new Ultra 2 displaying the Modular Ultra face. It would go on and off in dim areas, but was quite sluggish, taking a long time to revert to the regular face. It didn't go on at night in a darkened room for at least a half hour. Not the ideal for the prime purpose of NM. I reset both watch and iPhone. That helped a bit, but didn't fix things.

I did find the solution. Apparently Night Mode is sensitive to how you set up your complications - which ones, as well as placement. Perhaps your time display, too, though I didn't test that. I tried a bunch of different arrangements and complications one at a time, saving the face after testing each one for NM.

Image 1shows my original configuration. Everything worked, except for NM. The top middle complication is for my Tempest weather station. Not sure why the day shown is Tuesday, I didn't get the watch until Friday. Is there a Wayback machine on the Watch? 😄

As an aside, I'm happy with the battery life. Charged at 2 pm on Friday and still have 26% Sunday at 10:30 am. Of course that could change as the battery calibration gets better after a few charges.

Image 2 is my current face that's working perfectly!

I began to change positions and swap out other complications and found that (on my watch face at least) the top middle and bottom middle spots were pretty picky about what was there. The top was more sensitive. I found that leaving that blank worked perfectly with NM and my preferred complications.

I can get to my weather station app easily enough without it being displayed. But darn it, I do like how it's displayed on the face with current, low, and high temperatures. Also liked being able to tap that and bring up more data.
