I just activated night shift mode on my iPhone 6 128GB. I set it to the warmest colour from 9pm to 7am.
But the colours did not change at 9pm, but 9:01. Is this intended?

The night/silent mode works as well on the minute if I recall correctly.

Sunset is too early for me. Sun is setting at 7PM here in SoCal and I don't go to bed till 11PM at the earliest. I have mine set from 10PM-7AM.
As I understand part of the benefit is to have it like that a few hours before you go to bed as blue light affects things further back than just an hour or so.

From all the studies I have read in the past, your not suppose to expose your self to blue light 90 minutes before bed. So most nights I am going to sleep between 11PM-Midnight, I'm going the last 1-2 hours without blue light. Thats assuming I'm even using the devices in the last 90 minutes anyway. I typically put my devices on the chargers before I even get into bed.

I'm in cali too but I just let it kick in at 7pm anyway. No harm done really as I'm not editing photos on my phone or anything where color matters.

have you people never used flux ? i'd like the 60 minutes slow change like flux does it. when the sun is setting it's setting gradually, i don't want my screen yellow 30 seconds after 6 pm when its still -day- outside

I use the warmest setting. I've been using f.lux for years, and have really gotten used to warmer settings.

I don't really care about this 1 minute late. F.lux on Mac OS X also have a 1 minutes or so or even longer transition time to turn display into warmer color temperature.
What I like is I do not need to jailbreak just for this feature. 🙂

Am I the only one who uses sunrise to sunset option?
How to you turn that option on? All I see is schedule option, nothing else.

EDIT: Never mind, I see you had to go into the options schedule to turn sunrise sunset on.

That's what I'm using. I would think that it's what would be best for my circadian rhythms.

Edit: others beat me to it. Yes, you want to be using it a couple hours before you try to go to sleep.
