Is Night Shift supported on MacBookPro9,2?

I'm reading different things regarding which Macs support Night Shift.

I honestly thought all Macs that ran Sierra would work with NightShift, but if not, I'm assuming it has to do with Metal support. Now if I'm not misremembering that means an Intel HD 4000 and up. Or maybe the 3000 was the lowest contender.

There are already some hacks available, if you want them. It is rather trivial to work around, but whether it works well, I do not know.

I can't tell by your first post... Did you try the beta to see that your MBPro works with Night Shift (or does not)?
maybe you don't need a hack anyway. Works on my 2012 mini, which also has the same graphics chip (HD Graphics 4000) as your 2012 MBPro.

Highly doubt it as per the following post.

Yup, if it works with the 2012 mini with the same graphics chip then the 9,2 should be supported.

Many thanks for your replies, much appreciated.
