Got the APP on launch day. It replaced my 65ts.
On 6/12 , they started to act weird with connections. Tried to reset- they wouldnt. Wouldnt connect either.
Apple CC tried to troubleshoot on phone- about 60 mins on phone and decided to send replacement earbuds (only).
Received them yesterday and they came with mismatching firmware on the buds (XXX76 and XXX84)

They wouldnt connect as a "couple". Spent another 2 hours (during my work day) with apple CC out of which 20 mins i was put on hold !!
I got tired of it and said to senior advisor- send me a new unit or refund and they said if I am busy we can troubleshoot later! WTF? I spent two hours already alone yesterday. And to top it off Apple put charge of almost 200 Euros on card - it shows in the balance/statement. So thats 279 euros + 200 and i had a unit that was broken!!

All of this felt like a nightmare I was glad that this happened for the APP and not something like MBP!!

So Apple CC suggested (during the call yesterday) that I should try to update the firmware individually on each buds. I was advised not to put both earbuds in the case at the same time and try to connect because they wouldnt work because of the mismatch.
Tried that for the rest yesterday and no luck (still XXX76 and XXX84)

I was more than fed up with all this and I put both the earbuds in the case this morning and started to prepare myself to talk Apple CC again.

And alas both the earbuds (replaced ones) updated to XXX588 and started to work -->magic!!
(i know its not but its crazy that apple would ship earbuds with diff firmwares and suggest
something even more crazy)

OFF Topic-
And there is some more magic (my word of the day- sorry)- Apple CC were able to connect to my phone using my apple ID alone. No password no nothing!! I did have to accept the screen sharing request but thats it. That left me with a feeling that the security of this procedure is weak and can be hacked.
Did you guys know about this? i didnt. So if the apple id gets breached its possible to connect to the phone?

didn't know it could be done on iPhones.
how did they do it? through what app or setting on yr phone?

on a mac i connect over the net sometimes to a family member's mac through Messages. same way, all they need to do is give permission. screen sharing.

did you need to enable Screen Recording in the Control Center on yr iPhone?

I didnt know that either.

They requested my apple id and permission to connect to my iphone. On my end, I received a screen share request - allow / reject

I did not screen record it. They were able to point to apps/settings i should go with a red arrow controlled remotely.
