So since WatchOS 8, I've noticed that in the nightstand mode, the watch will sometimes have the display on all the time. Sometimes I'll wake up during the night for whatever reason, and I see the watch on full brightness displaying the time, and it does not turn off after a few seconds, if I happened to bump the nightstand next to my bed. I've seen this a number of times, and the only way to turn it off is to remove it from the charging cradle and re-attach it, then it will go back to sleep.

What I'm worried about is burn-in with the OLED screen, since its really bright. On another note, It's always bugged me that you cannot adjust the nightstand mode brightness, because it truly is way too bright. A simple feature, but we're not worthy.

Has anyone seen this? Any remedy?

Yeah, had this a couple of times.
Like you say, a bit of a worry with the screen.

A friend asked me if I had encountered this with my watch….luckily I haven’t, they’ve had it a few times.

Must be really distracting when you are trying to sleep ?

I have been having the exact same problem. Not every night but quite often, very irritating. Easily fixed temporarily by removing from the stand and replacing, but would like to know if there is any permanent fix?

My series 3 has had the same issue lately. Not every time but once in a while when I put it on the stand. Last night it stayed on all night because I didn't feel like getting up to remove it from the stand and put it back in.

This has happened a few times for me. When it happens, I toggle nightstand mode on/off from my phone (so I don't have to get out of bed - the watch is on the other side of the room).

An old thread but I also get this on my Series 7 watch.

I haven't seen this happen in quite a while though so I am wondering whether now that its on OS 8.5.1, it has been fixed in a recent update.
