Phone on iOS pB 12 - watch os 4.3.1

At night my Series 3 nightstand mode constantly goes on and off. Is this a new change to nightstand mode or some other issue? Charging is not going on/off rather it goes dark 2-3 seconds and then shows nightstand mode.

Is this and issue or new feature of nightstand mode?

is the surface your apple watch is charging on shaking/moving? If the Apple Watch moves while charging it will display nightstand mode. After a couple minutes, the screen goes blank as intended.

Someone here reported that a running table fan standing near where their watch was charging was sufficient to trigger nightstand mode (I've found it to be ridiculously oversensitive myself.)

Is there anything nearby that might be causing (perhaps only tiny) vibrations that might set your watch off? (Could be a speaker, whatever.)

I like it sensitive. I just have to tap my night stand to see the time of my watch.
Since one size does not fit all, maybe Apple could add a sensitivity option.

I can tap atop two thick stacked novels on my nightstand, and still have the watch turn on as it rests on top of my clock radio. It's kerrazy sensitive. Oversensitive, I'd like to say. :p If cat paws set it off it's too sensitive.

Also, I'd like for a second tap to turn it OFF as well. In the middle of the night the green light is a bit strong to my eyes and it's a first-world problem having to "palm" the display off, especially since the watch might decide to turn right back on again if you nudge it as you release it... Ugh.

I guess it depends on where it sits (and perhaps on the charging stand: mine is the Native Union one on the rubber block; that may act as a dampener for small vibrations) but for me it’s not over sensitive. Tapping my bedside cabinet sharply brings it on but it never comes on unbidden. The light doesn’t bother me once it’s on as once I’ve read the time I tend to close my eyes to go back to sleep.

Thanks for the help all, we have an air purifier which I recently moved much closer to my Apple Watch, I’ve never noticed a vibration but it does have a fan inside. That was 100% it and moving the air purifier back to its original location solved the issue. Thanks again!
