Hello,
I am trying to launch Nike Run Club on my new Apple Watch Series 4 and am receiving the following error:
"Nike Run Club Cannot Be Installed. Nike Run Club needs to be updated to run on this Apple Watch"

I wanted to confirm that others are encountering the same issue. I am moving from an older Nike Apple Watch to a non-Nike version and wanted to make sure this is not an issue related to that.

Thank you.

I'd double check that you have the latest version of the app. It sounds like the series 4 might require a newer version of the app than you had on the older watch. I know they released a new version when they launched the Series 3 last year, so that seems like a likely possibility. The regular non--Nike versions of the watch can definitely run the NRC app.

Same for me. Very surprising, especially considering the partnership between Apple and Nike. Hope they fix SOON.

this is just strange.

they (apple & nike) insist on their "special" relationship, because NRC is treated as a "special app" on the watch. it is featured with a special-edition-watch.. and they aren't able to provide a version that "works", because you can't even use todays version.

every 1-person-developed-app provided timely updates for wachtOS5 and the new watch - but the multi-billion-dollar companies are behind...... frustrating...

Just got my new AW4 today. And experienced the same issue.
I was restoring the AW4 from AW3 nike plus version and I thought it may be the cause of the issue.
Then I reset the new watch and pair it again. Still Failed.

Finally, I unloaded the NRC app on the phone. Rebooting both devices, install the NRC app again on the phone, then do it on the watch and now its working. Hope it can help:)

I also encountered this error.
If you restore from AW3 to AW4, the old NRC software is loaded, which is not compatible with WatchOS 5.

I ended up setting my AW4 up as new, vs restoring. It loaded only the latest NRC software.
The method fernandoalonso14 described works as well, if you wish to restore (I had nothing I wanted to save, all my runs had synched to my phone, and I don't fiddle with complications much, and there was minimal software to install on my watch).

This worked for me. Uninstalled on phone and then reinstalled on phone. App appeared on my watch again.

Have you uninstall the app on the phone? Mine is fixed after uninstall the NRC app on the phone, rebooting both devices, pair them again and install the app again on the phone. Hope it helps

Does anyone here have an iPhone 6 Plus? There seem to be problems installing most watch apps from the iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 12.1 to an AW 4 running watchOS 5.1.1.

If anyone who did get it working has that set-up then it would be very useful to know so that I could suggest it as a workaround for users of my app who own an iPhone 6 Plus.

Here are a couple of links about it:

Nike Run Club does work on Series 4 and has for quite a while (estimating end of October). Somethnig happened with install for me. What worked was uninstalling from watch and reinstalling. I even have a complication on my inforgraph face.

Hi does anyone knows, is there any way to check out our running datas on the web besides on the iPhone app like the other workout apps?

I believe that is the reason why most of us are ditching the nike app due to lack of web data. I have used Runtastic and others. however, I have recently found that Workouts app to give me exactly all the metrics I need.

You are absolutely right. Actually ı used to do my workouts with Runkeeper and endomondo. But the only thing that I care on Nike Run Club app is audio cues that while I have my bluetooth headphones on.
But after I had an apple watch I realized that Endomondo has this feature but runkepper don't.
