Nike has today announced a number of software updates to the Apple Watch Nike and the Nike Run Club app for the Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch Nike now includes a new, exclusive modular sport watch face. Designed to offer multiple complications, the new face includes a quick-start button, total monthly miles, and "Guided Runs" with updated content and artwork.

The latest watch face also includes Nike Twilight Mode, offering a new in-run display and brighter design to be more visible at night.

When using the Nike Run Club app for Apple Watch during a run, new metrics now appear to help measure the user's every stride. In addition to total miles run, the updated interface enables runners to view their average pace and cadence.

To motivate users to keep running, the latest Nike Run Club interface offers a new "Streaks" function. The feature awards users with a streak badge if they complete at least one run per week. Each week the user keeps the streak alive, they unlock the next streak icon on the watch face.

The update for the Nike Run Club app is available now, but only users with an Apple Watch Nike can use the new exclusive watch face.

If one were interested in an aluminum space gray watch, are there any differences between the standard Apple Watch vs Nike (aside from the initial band selection)? Seems like there’s an upside to purchasing the Nike watch for exclusive watch faces.

If I have understood the article correctly, a software update for an iOS app from the App Store can apply new Watch Faces on the Apple Watch? If so... this is an exciting development!

Maybe this is the beginning of what many of us really want.. Custom Watch Faces :apple:⌚ 😍

There’s no difference other than what you mentioned. There is a Nike symbol on the bottom of the casing too.

The price is the same and you get more faces, that's why I went for the Nike version when I bought my series 4.
The initial band selection is different, but if you don't like the one full of holes you can pick the sport loop like I did.
My favourite face is one of the Nike's, so I'm really happy I made that choice

Yeah, some of my fav watch faces are of Nike’s... so I’m sure my next AW will be Nike as well. You have nothing to lose - it’s the same price as the regular one.

My Series 3 is Nike as is my Series 6.

I don’t see an update for the app or anything new in the Face Gallery either. (My S6 is still on the truck though.)

There are absolutely no disadvantages to picking the Nike over the standard. In past years they used to be released days to weeks later, if I recall correctly. That was the only disadvantage. I’ve gotten the Nike versions ever since they were released because I like the holey bands they release with. This time I got a loop band since I lost the one I had and it may work better with the new blood oxygen feature, in terms of keeping the watch at the optimal position on my wrist.

Some of the run programs are pretty good on the Nike app. Good motivator encouraging you on your wrist. I kind of wish the Apple Watch or phone could tie in to something like a treadmill to set intensity and pace programatically, but it is what it is. Still preferring Strava a bit more for recording of runs and bike rides however.

Space grey or silver only and no force touch?
That stopped me from looking further and no longer wants to buy one.
The color choice is a bit of a bummer with Nike indeed. I’m quite liking the new blue color....but watch faces still prevail tho.

Yeah I’m guessing this new watch face is *not* coming to the S3?

I have a Series 5 Nike Apple Watch! Where is the update? It's not showing in face gallery. I am on iOS 14 and Watch OS 7...

Try restarting your AW and iPhone... helped me last time when new watch faces didn’t show up on watchOS 6.

I’m gonna restart now and see.
And for the record, I don’t have an update to the app via the App Store yet either (if there is one).

It says on their website:
The run beckons.

Apple Watch Nike with the Nike Run Club app is your ultimate running partner. Exclusive Nike watch faces are now more customizable with modular complications. Streaks are the new brags. And with Nike Twilight Mode, any time is go time. * You can run without Apple Watch Nike. But why would you?

Available in Apple Watch Series 6 and SE models

I guess the new Nike faces/features are coming only to Nike Series 6 and Nike SE models

To everyone having trouble getting it to show up I had issues also. Delete the app from your watch and then reinstall it, it should show up then.
