Nike Sport Band Question

I’ve just upgraded from the Space Grey S4 with Antracite/Black Nike Sport Band to Graphite S8 with Olive Green/Black Nike Sports Band and the new band is noticeably softer, thinner and more flexible.

When did Apple change the design/material of the Nike Sport Band and is it possible to still buy new of the older style/material?

I just bought a Nike sport band in midnight and mystic navy on eBay, brand-new, sealed in the box. I noticed that it was much thinner than all my other bands, and I have about eight of them. At first I thought it was a fake, but after comparing boxes and my other bands, it seems legit. The only difference for me is the thickness. I love the thickness of the older bands.
