I was in an Apple shop today, and asked about the Nike watch bands. I guess the only way to purchase one, is to buy the Nike watch itself.

Ugh, I was this close to doing so. But, reality set in; plus it was $399+. I might as well look at a Hermes band, then :(

Surely at some stage Nike/Apple, will start to offer these bands, no?

Probably not as the bands along with custom watch faces are exclusive to the Nike+ Apple Watch. You can get 3rd party knock offs, but I've read they aren't really very good.

I'm happy with my eBay Nike band. $12. Maybe its not of the quality of the actual Apple one, but it works for me.

The band is cool. I liked the Nike Apple Watch I tried on... went with a Stainless model though.

Even the third party flueroastamer bands are fairly good quality. But they are thinner and more plasticky when compared to Apple's. But physically, they are indistinguishable.

+1. I have the Nike edition- black/grey band. Have 2 knock off volt/ black bands and actually prefer them. They seem a little more flexible and maybe 1/10 of a gram lighter- you know we serious runners appreciate carrying less weight on our bodies and with our tech gear:)

Either they are thinner and more plasticky or they are indistinguishable, they can not be both.

Side by by side comparisons are indistinguishable. There is no way to determine which is third party from Apple's OEM by physically looking at them. More specifically, I'm referring to the flueroastamer bands. That said, tactile feel immediately will reveal the third party bands are thinner, more plasticky and less supple. And this coming from someone who owns at last 15 different OEM And third party Flueroastamer bands.

So, yes, my first post stands that they are indistinguishable physically, texture is where the authenticity depicts.

I actually don't run with my Apple Watch. But I do weight lift with it. Keep up the good work with your running.
