The future is now! Soon every American home will integrate their television, phone and computer. You'll be able to visit the Louvre on one channel, or watch female wrestling on another. You can do your shopping at home, or play Mortal Kombat with a friend from Vietnam. There's no end to the possibilities!

As dumb as this is, at least there's no subscription involved lol.

Might I suggest decaf? I agree with your basic premise, but your point gets lost in a barrage of exclamation points and random CAPS.

Hey Siri, unzip my pants.

On the other hand, this tech will never get off the ground unless it starts somewhere. If you take this to its logical end, every shoe you get into will be a custom fit to your own foot and that is really a good thing. If you are in shoes with poor support or don't fit well, it can lead to knee and back problems.

Woah, there. You seem angry. Is someone forcing you to buy these?

Nike already sells a pair of running shoes for $280. The basketball version of this shoe retailed for $350, so there's about a 25% premium to have your shoes tie themselves.

I went ice skating with an acquaintance of mine a number of years ago. He was born with one hand. How tight can you possibly get ice skates trying to tie them with one hand? For him, an ice skate version of this would have been awesome. For *athletes* with disabilities, especially elite ones, or even just techy ones, i.e., the kind of people who would spend a few hundred dollars on a pair of shoes, let alone sneaker heads who will be all over this the same way they were with the basketball version, I have to imagine this shoe is pretty cool.

Hell, after I go for a run, I have to bend down and loosen my laces like a dog in 2019. To be able to just have Siri do it sounds cool to me.

You would probably need help putting on the shoes in the first place if this were the case. This particular use case wouldn’t be the sole justification for this tech... This and the price range and style aren’t really aiming to be for accessibility/medical cases.

I wear trainers (as we call them here in the UK) all the time when I'm not at work. And I'm not running everywhere just because I have them on. It's just a leisure thing. And to say that these expensive shoes are not marketed at people with disabilities is a rubbish point of view. Just because you have a disability, it doesn't mean that you automatically wear naff shoes/trainers/sneakers/whatever. I'm sure some people with disabilities like the look of these just as much as able bodied people do.

This is not something I would buy. I will note finding shoes that fit my left/right foot comfortably is something I notice. It's not just a "new shoe thing." It's day to day as my (and no one else's) feet do not stay the exact same proportion day to day. I applaud Nike for having the courage to rally their resources to build/sell such a Product. There a lot of headwinds to prevent such a shoe from ever making it to market. (For example, weight is a critical factor for running shoes. They're adding motors to these things.)

Often times the product exercise doesn't show it's value right away. The iPhone has it's roots in the Newton and a tablet project that just couldn't be sorted based on books I've read (that's my out saying I can't confirm it's true. It is reported.)

Have we become so jaded we can't support the "Crazy Ones?"
