did a wee bit of research before going to the shop and was going to get a sony cybershot 730. however the guy in the shop told me not to get it, that sony don't make great cameras and nikon and cannon are better. the only canon camera he had of same price was lower resolution so when i pointed this out he said to get the niknon coolpix, which was 99 euro. he was adamant it was a far better camera.

so far in my limited use its fine but a lot of reviews on the internet say its a terrible camera. however on amazon most of the reviews are excellent.

anyone got one or got an opinion? guess i could take it back if its going to make a big difference..

I would think that any current small camera by a major manufacturer will be much of a muchness unless you went a step up to something with a larger sensor, or chose something with a crazy zoom.

I am a bit puzzled though, the only 'cybershot 730' I could find was this one http://www.dpreview.com/news/2007/12/28/sonys730 but it's years old...?

    1) Guys in shops recommend cameras that are in stock, or they know about.

    2) You've got the camera in your hand and you say it's "fine". Does it really matter what other people think?

    3) There will be better and worse cameras than the one you bought.

    4) Take it out, point it at something interesting and enjoy the results... :)

no theres a 16 meg one

i admit my main reason for favouring it was one of the colours was a rather cool looking green which is my football teams colour, however on explaining this to the guy in the shop i could see how daft a reason for choosing a camera it was.

    1. Take lots of pictures.
    2. Evaluate pictures.
    3. Is there a problem that's not due to the photographer?
