Well, Nikon does make professional survey equipment, so they definitely have the technology to throw a GPS in their cameras. I think that's a pretty good idea. They should incorporate the GPS into the SLRs.

The D1H, D1X, D2H/Hs, D200, D2X/Xs, D300, D3 and D700 bodies are all GPS-capable.

I did a bunch of work geotagging native heritage sites this summer.. I wish this cam. had been out, because it would have saved me alot of time lugging a D300 + Garmin 60scx + stereo cables (which fyi cost like $200 from Nikon ( big rippoff) through a crapload of swamps, ponds, forestst, etc..

Ha, you think that's bad? Try dragging a Total Station, data collector, GPS and toughbook around. ;) :D

Lord Blackadder how did that happen? it's truly worse :rolleyes: , Everythingisnt : why didn't you use GPS logger and your regular cam? there are sites that support and do the mach between the two to make geotag album. :confused:
