    it sounds like you still need to move the game over to the wii internal memory to play it though....

    Probably be part of a big system update, customisable backgrounds plx? But finally I'll have access to all my WiiWare and VC titles.

    Gamasutra reported that we'll be able to download directly to the SD card and play the games from there. :)

    Why 2009? Hopefully they'll change the Wii interface too.

    Why would they need to change the Wii's interface, short of allowing more pages of channels.

    Only the transfer speed is too slow. I'm guessing the problem has been DRM. At the moment it encrypts the files and adds DRM stuff as it transfers the game across, only that also includes the emulator files too (hence the filesize).
