This is great news. No need to buy some stupid Nintendo accessory to store extra stuff on. I can just use my SD card! Coming Spring 2009 🙂.

Probably be part of a big system update, customisable backgrounds plx? But finally I'll have access to all my WiiWare and VC titles.

Gamasutra reported that we'll be able to download directly to the SD card and play the games from there. 🙂

Why would they need to change the Wii's interface, short of allowing more pages of channels.

That's what we have now.

Only the transfer speed is too slow. I'm guessing the problem has been DRM. At the moment it encrypts the files and adds DRM stuff as it transfers the game across, only that also includes the emulator files too (hence the filesize).
