Could just be in certain unlikely circumstances, the Core M has AVX 2 while a 2013 i7 doesn't...

I doubt most real applications will perform that much better.

What does the latest rMBP 13" non-I7 have? I'm debating between rMB and 13" rMBP, yes they are two different beasts but not having a mag-port and sd card slot are big minus points for me.

i5 5257U (2.7 GHz) or i5 5287U (2.9 GHz) - it's a lot more powerful than a Core M, and the screen on the rMBP is nicer, but it won't be as paper-thin as the rMB (which seems to be its only selling point).

Get with it people, stop complaining.

If you need a performance machine, this isn't for you. People keep comparing it to the Air. The Air is definitely not a performance machine either... so not sure why everyone is getting their panties in a wad.

It's thin and is not very heavy.

I also like the way it is fan-less...QUIET!
