Hi,

Our nMP just arrived today. We have a little problem with our Dell monitors. Max resolution is only 1920x1200 in stead of 2560x1440.

The monitors are connected via thunderbolt through a display port to DVI connector.

All suggestion are appreciated. Thanks.

Passive DP to DVI connectors are only able to drive 1920x1200 at most. Pushing past that requires an electrical charge that you can't get through those adapters.

You need an active DP to DVI-D adapter, which will draw extra power from an available USB port. Apple sells them, and others do as well. They're a kludge and a waste of money, IMHO.

According to Dell's website, the panels in question have DisplayPort inputs on them. Get mini-DP to DP cables and connect them up to the Mac that way.

Thanks, didn't even notice that in my excitement. Mini display port to display port cable it is then. :)
