Im looking for a new monitor for use with my nMP that luckily I was able to get before the end of February. Ill mostly be using my computer for FCP and general everyday stuff. Ive spent so much on the computer and want something to complement it. Ive been looking around and heres what I come up with. Ill start with the obvious. Apple TB display. Good display but hasnt been updated in ages. Asus PA279Q Good monitor. Good specs. My question is since it can do 10 bit color. I would need the override hack to enable 10 bit. From what I gather, HDMI cant do 10 bit. Will mini display handle the 10 bit color? From what I gather it does come with a mini display to Display Port. Will it push the 10 bit color? Or should I use the Display port to Display port using a Mini display adaptor? https://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/PA279Q/ Eizo FlexScan EV2736W - Another good choice but it doesnt do 10 bit color. It seems more towards office use. http://www.eizo.com/global/products/flexscan/ev2736w/index.html NEC EA274WMI-BK - seems similar to the Eizo http://www.necdisplay.com/p/desktop-monitors/ea274wmi-bk My reasoning for going 10 bit is so that when I am working in FCP I could get more accurate colors, but I know in order to really get an understanding of what Ive seeing on the screen and that will make it to TV I need a broadcast monitor. (which for now isnt happening) Im used to working in a real edit suite where they do have production monitors or just working off of a laptop and I dont really need to be concerned about colors too much. Im open to other suggestions. I heard Dell makes some good monitors but Im not familiar with them. I would like to stay between 24-27 and about $1,000. Thanks!
