With nMP supply seeming to trickle out, I was wondering if we could compile an Apple Store sightings report to check it out in person ?

If you have confirmation of a nMP sighting, I'll group them up here. I'll go check both Paris Apple Stores on Monday to see.

Confirmed Apple Retail Store with nMP on display:

Australia
Chadstone Shopping Center
George Street Sydney Store

France
Caroussel du Louvre Paris
Opéra Paris
Vélizy 2
Rosny 2

CentrO Oberhausen

Italy
RomaEst

Japan

Grays Lakeside
Bristol Cribbs Causeway

United States
Santa Monica, CA
Melrose Mac, CA (Authorised Apple dealer)

When I went on the day it was released, they said it was going to be strictly online orders for now. In fact, they still had an earlier model on display.

In Australia, at the very least George St (Sydney) and Chadstone (Melbourne) have display models.

I'm in Scottsdale AZ this week and they still have the old Mac Pro on display. If you get a chance to go to the Scottsdale Quarter Apple Store, which is an excellent Apple Store BTW, go to the True Food Kitchen Restaurant directly across from the Apple Store. Awesome Gluten Free and Vegan menu options as well as non-specialty diet menu options. There was an 80 minute wait but definitely worth it; really delicious food at True Food Kitchen. But, no nMP in the wild there.

I'm on vacation in Santa Monica at the moment.. and they have the entry level quad at the Apple Store here. It's much more space grey than black under bright lights. What's most impressive is the Sharp 4K display they have it connected to. I need one of those!!! :D Even at 30Hz I don't see any lag or issues with that frequency for 2D desktop use. For photography or video editing that screen real estate is amazing. PPI is perfect at that size. I could go on and on... ;)

Perfect PPI? I would agree, if you look at it with binoculars attached to your forehead or wear prescription glasses. I find it "crazy" to call 138 ppi as perfect or even acceptable. Well may be for a few seconds with oversized fonts. Size has nothing to do with being acceptable, only ppi matters. For example Apple 27" has 109 ppi and it is very close to be just too small, but bearable. I have 27" 2560x1440 monitor, there is no way I would commit to higher then 109 ppi. Or may be when you look at it in HiDPI mode, but it makes it effectively 1080p monitor for UI decoration and text (preserves image resolution) or scale it down to 1080p so you can read oversized text from normal distance. There is nothing in between in OS X to make this monitor more acceptable.

Went to the store in Berlin last Saturday and they were just setting it up. Should be on display today.

Apparently even Michail Chodorkowski was interested in this since he stood right beside me.

One of the red tshirt guys at Paris Opéra Apple Store said they have a few of the quad and hex base models in stock. Also said the 7 flagship Apple Stores will all have the Sharp 4K monitor on display (and I confirm it runs at 60Hz and it is a beauty !). Don't know which other six stores those are apart from Paris Opéra.

Unfortunately a negative report from our nearest Apple store (about an hour away in Syracuse). They are "jealous" that the NYC stores already have demo models in hand, and have no idea when they're also going to get some love from Apple. :p

I've seen one at the Apple Store in the "Centro" in Oberhausen, Germany.

Think it was a real one and no dummy.

Had a good play on one at Cribbs store in Bristol yesterday. Apple guy said it had just arrived the day before.

May be the only one in the area as they didn't have one at the flagship store in Bath today.

Gonna have to have one!
