Today, all of a sudden, I can't access my photos. i hook up my phone to my computer and the Photo app that replaced iPhoto opens up, my photos appear, then disappear and it says "no photos". I tried using Image Capture and the same thing happens. I haven't changed anything in my settings. I can see the photos on my phone and can send them via email, etc., but that's all. I also use an app called "We Transfer" to send big files. This app also says "No photos available". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Weird, did you try restarting the phone?
Can you back it up via itunes also?
Did you do the ios update by any chance and maybe that could have caused it?
Yes I restarted it. Then I downloaded the lastest update. No good. Since submitting my post, my phone just died. Had a 100% charge. Battery is practically new. Looks like I'm dead in the water.

Yes. Should I turn it off?
Well, that is probably the key to the problem. You should be able to view your photos in Photos on your Mac without plugging the phone in as long as you have the option turned on in System Preferences > iCloud > Photos.

As for whether or not you should disable it, that's up to personal preference and how much iCloud storage you have. It can be convenient for some, but some people like a more wired way of dealing with their data.

Well, I got rid of iCloud. I don't need it anyway. But, I still have the same problem. Can't access or send my photos. I deleted all but about 7 photos too. Very frustrating.

I say do a backup and restore it with itunes.
It sounds like its running pretty buggy.
Save whatever you need to save and plug it to itunes and hit restore.

Will do.

I know it is too late now but at least once a month I will copy my photos to my desktop when it pops up as a drive before backing up in iTunes. Too much valuable stuff these days, could not stand to have them go missing.

Hope you can figure out what is wrong.

I think I'm screwed. I did the restore, but since I backed up my phone during the time I was having the issue, my restore just brought back the same problem. When I go back to an earlier backup, the option to restore is grayed out. Is there another option other than restoring back to when I first bought the phone? Feel free to tel me to tell me what an idiot I am, but then please tell me how to fix this. Thanks.
[doublepost=1490963896][/doublepost]Update: Apparently, the problem was with my photo library. I still can't access them for emailing or using in my editing apps. However I can access any new photos I take. I'm bummed all my photos are unavailable to me now, but relieved the problem is fixed. Thanks everyone.
