    Hello All,

I am having some troubles with the Installer app, which requires me to give the administrator password to install programs. However the Admin password for my imac has been lost.

Is there anyway to work around only this specific problem with the Installer app, using Terminal, rather than completely changing the framework of the os to turn the Admin password off?

I am using an imac intel with Leopard os

    Thanks

You know you can reset the account password with the help of the installation DVDs that came with the iMac?

You need to reset it, then.

You can get replacement DVDs from Apple for 30USD.

Or create a new user if you can. Otherwise it sounds a bit fishy.

It does seem suspicious. For the op, create a user account, then install the apps in that users account. Admin password is not needed.

    Is the computer yours?
