Do you know if with the new TVOS update has support for Quick Media Switching in the Apple TV 2021? thanks!

Quick media switching is good but has faults you need to know about so not to be overhyped.
He doesn’t really say anything we didn’t already know before from reading this, though still good to see how it works.

thanks and i dont understand why. Apple TV 2021 has hdmi 2.1...
It’s not that hard to understand why surely, if you give all the new bells and whistles to the previous models then what incentive is there for anyone to purchase to the latest model.
I’m not saying I’m in defence of it, but that’s just how business works.

However that being said, reading elsewhere apparently the HDMI hardware in the ATV4k 2nd Gen is only HDMI 2.0 with 2.1 eARC functionality.

Even the 2022 model has HDMI 2.0 with some HDMI 2.1 features enabled (eARC and QMS)

I agree that for Apple the important thing is the business but I see a bit absurd that the 2021 model does not implement QMS. I don't think many people will change model because of that and the message Apple gives is not good (at least for my perception that I have a 2021 model).

In fact, do I buy the 2022 model? No. Maybe Apple will bring out the 2023 model and do something similar again even if technically possible. No thanks, Apple doesn't give me any comfort on that regards.

Then, do i buy the 2023 model? opss no again (same reason) and the 2024? ops no again... 2025? no... 2026? no...

On the other hand, I am a bit confused. Checking different reviews they all say that the Apple tv 2021 has hdmi 2.1.

Yes that is correct but only sort of, for HDMI to be labelled as HDMI 2.1 it only has to support one of the following from the bottom 5.
So in the case of the 2021 model eARC ticks that box.

I’ve got a similar thing with my Panasonic OLED, it has HDMI 2.1 functionality for eARC and ALLM only.
