I'll want to look at the SDK first - and at best a two week app is going to be proof of concept that only has to work for five minutes. I'll guarantee that they were not final release quality.

I had a feeling this is what would happen.
I guess it can't realistically be expected for Apple to suddenly have a bunch of apps ready AND the infrastructure to sell/distribute them right off the bat.
And even if they did attempt to do it today, there would be a pretty stark selection of apps available. So then we'd all be complaining about that right now instead..

Still, something for us to mortals to play with today would have been nice!

I'm fine with this. Some of the apps that companies showed off today were great considering they only had 2 weeks with the SDK. I'm looking for to the AIM instant messenger. It looked like a pretty slick interface.

There was always going to be a gap between the release of the tools to make the software and the release of the actual software. You know what an SDK is right?

Im pretty sure installer is going to have SDK apps very soon because the SDK is out...
