I'll want to look at the SDK first - and at best a two week app is going to be proof of concept that only has to work for five minutes. I'll guarantee that they were not final release quality.

I was holding off on jailbreaking. Will be doing that when I get home now.

I'm annoyed about all the "early SDK developers" and the hype about "apps available from SDK release".. arghh

I had a feeling this is what would happen.
I guess it can't realistically be expected for Apple to suddenly have a bunch of apps ready AND the infrastructure to sell/distribute them right off the bat.
And even if they did attempt to do it today, there would be a pretty stark selection of apps available. So then we'd all be complaining about that right now instead..

Still, something for us to mortals to play with today would have been nice!

I can't believe people have anything to complain about with this.
    Please grow up.
As an iPhone user I'm pretty encouraged by this. Like a new phone for nowt.

I wonder why they made a big deal out of being able to develop a great game in only two weeks, but then make us wait 4 months for it.

I'm fine with this. Some of the apps that companies showed off today were great considering they only had 2 weeks with the SDK. I'm looking for to the AIM instant messenger. It looked like a pretty slick interface.

There was always going to be a gap between the release of the tools to make the software and the release of the actual software. You know what an SDK is right?

    developement time
    testing time
    reworking time
    testing time
    apple approval time

it all adds up. I would rather wait and get a quality app that works instead of a in beta forever app with bugs.
