No audio, but video via HDMI?

I can't for the life of me figure this out! I haven't changed a thing. I can get video (which to me, indicates the HDMI cord is working fine) but no audio. I did a reset, a hard reset, and even tried using my second AppleTV from the other living room. Still no audio. It's going through an Onkyo 805 if that info is needed. Anybody have any ideas??

Try another HDMI cord? Try the HDMI direct to the TV?

But wouldn't the HDMI cord not send video if it was defective??

There are several pins there. Audio and video may not travel on the same wires.

Also ensure the audio is natively supported by ATV (DTS for instance is not supported).

I haven't changed a single setting, it literally just stopped working. I can only assume it's hardware related. The cable box and PS3 (both via HDMI) work fine.

Audio is embedded in the blanking area (between frames) of the video signal.
