That might be a deal-breaker for me, although I am an experienced touch-typist. We've been enjoying that feature for so long.

Maybe V2 will add it.

It's remarkable considering Apple's first backlit keyboards, for the PowerBook G4s, were a virtual showstopper in 2003 as a premium feature. Even measuring from that point, it was ages before easy-to-find, affordable "RGB" keyboards were anywhere near normal.

Since the Neo has white keys, I'm glad there's no backlight. The Magic Keyboard I have on my iPad is white, and the backlight makes the symbols on the keys impossible to read, in certain lighting conditions. I should look into if I can turn it off...

They could use contrasting light like red, which using less power. And gimp it so it's either off or on instead of dynamic levels to make it cheaper.

The keys should have been black/white for maximum contrast. I understand the desire for matching pop colors, but based on my experience, you want max contrast for non-backlit keys.
