i HATED (ahem...hate) the rainbow wheel
and yes i noted also that it occasionally becomes the old black and white one (which i'd actually prefer). a side effect of classic running at the same time maybe?
 
Am I the only one who actually enjoys the spinning CD cursor for OS X 10.1? (It's a rhetorical question.) I do not like the boring black and white. It looks so System 7. At least the spinning CD in OS X 10.1 has colors and looks, at least, a bit more OS X-ish. (That was poor grammar, if you ask me.)

As for Jaguar, I would not be surprised to see an Aqua version of the spinning CD, since even the colored CD looks a little 2D.

As for black and white CDs, I think this happens in certain applications under OS X and basically all the time under OS 9.

Aparantly, the black and white one is when apps use old types of code or something. That's why IE does it. I'm not 100% sure, but yeah.
