So I tried to Boot Camp my macbook pro and installed Windows xp SP1 and it was not working so i went into boot utility and erased the windows partition and figured it would boot into my OS X partition but now i get a black screen saying that no boot device was found.

How do I get it to boot into my OS X so that i can use boot camp and re partition again?

OK, to get the memory back, you should be able to go into wither boot camp (less likely) or into Disk Utility (more likely) and slide the partition to where it is all Mac OSX. That should get you your space back. Also, if it ever boots like that and says not bootable device or something, just hold the "option" (alt) key as you boot up, and select OS X.
Also, I believe that in Boot Camp it explicitly says to NOT try to install XP SP1 on there. You need SP2. Either buy a copy or get a pirated copy like everyone else ;)
    Good luck.

When I open disk utility, I just have the 2 drives on the left hand side and I can click on them and have the option to "Erase", "Repair Disk", "Verify Disk Permissions" and "Repair Disk Permision". There are also tabs "First Aid", "Erase", "Raid" and "Restore". I don't see any way to see the actual partitions and slide anything.

    Thanks

Your clicking on the wrong drive,it's the top one in the left pane the one with all the numbers & letters after it
