whenever we ring apple in the uk or ireland we always talk to the service center in ireland. if the mbp isnt under warranty and its sa software issue you will be paying and hourly service charge (techie's wages) if its hardware you would pay the service charge and parts (extortionate.) if it is under warranty it will be free :)

get it sorted m8 playing with it yourself might damage it :S

can you boot to that cd with the hard drive back in there? if so, you might be right. if not, it still sounds like a hardware issue, because as far as i know bootcamp doesn't do anything to system firmware, it just allows you to install windows on another partition.

have you tried searching the apple support section for a way to flash the firmware from a cd?

they make firmware restoration cds, might try that?

there are multiple versions, make sure it matches your machine.
Basically I can boot to Windows Install CD and setup with or without a HDD installed on the Machine.

If I have no HDD installed and the DVD-Drive installed with the OSX Install DVD in and holding C to boot to DVD it just goes to the Black "boot device Error" Screen.

If I have a HDD installed and the DVD-Drive installed with the OSX Install DVD in and holding C to boot to DVD it just goes to the Black "boot device Error" Screen.

However, if I have a HDD installed and plug out the DVD-Drive it'll give me the little question mark, then see the drive give me the apple logo and then just stop there. I can hear it acknowledging the HDD but it does not spin up to boot it just hangs there dead in the water at the apple logo.

Now again the HDD is fine, it boots up every time when I put it in my mac.
I'm gonna have a look at flashing the firmware like you suggested earlier, hopefully that'll help as I'm confident (praying) that its a firmware thing that I can sort.

Its well out of Warranty but the issue only happened since I used Bootcamp which is Mac software could I not claim that it was the mac software that did the damage and they should fix it??!
