Ok so all of the hype has passed and the initial chit storm has passed and now we have time to digest what the iPad really is. So with all of the short comming people are pissed about only two really irked me. First, multitasking, however this is a software issue not an iPad issue and will be more than likely addressed with 4.0.

Second and this was a big one for me was no camera. Now that I have had time to think about this it seems to make sence that it would not be built in. With the camera in a laptop the camera is easily adjusted by tilting the screen, but the iPad bases are static and cannot be moved. So if I am a business person and want to vid conference with my tablet with a static camera and base I have to move me to make this work and thatt will not always work. So the iPad can be rotated 360* and I see an available external camera that can rotated front to back that will plug into the dock connector. I would find this 100% more usable than a built in version.

That being said the 499 will be on my coffee table come June or July.

The camera in my Archos 9 points right at my face when I'm holding it naturally. It's lens is offset a bit over the sensor to accomplish this. Just because a lens is fixed in a bezel doesn't mean it can't point at you.

I'm also cool with no camera. Not a big deal for me.

Can't wait for the camera version of the iPad, so the haters can start saying it's not got enough megapixels.

I am fine with no camera. I don't video "conference" so that is not an issue for me.

The absence of a camera doesn't bother me one little bit.
I had a netbook with a built-in camera and never used.

I don't do video calls or conferences. I have no interest whatsoever in seeing the people I am talking to.
