Like many others, I was hoping to see more upgrades to the IPhone 13 line. However, I’m coming from an IPhone 7 Plus. And my battery health is horrible so I’ll be picking up a IPhone 13 Pro Max. Despite the willingness to wait until the Iphone 14 comes out from many owners of older iPhone models, I basically don’t have a choice. However, I’m guessing I’ll see a huge difference.

I finally got out of the rat race. I've been getting new phones with the Apple Upgrade Plan since it started.

You're doing great if you kept the 7!

You have NO choice but to buy the 13?

'Cause getting a new battery (as already suggested) is not an option?

'Cause buying another iPhone 7+ is not an option?

'Cause buying an iPhone 8+, X, XS, XR, SE, SE2, 11PM, 12PM or even an older iPhone is not an option?

As @ericg301 said, gun to your head to get the 13 only right?

My bad….the overall condition of the phone is pretty bad. I just wish I could wait for next September’s event and grab a 14 but by then I might want the 15.

The facts is the 13 pro is not enough seductive, so we downgrade to the base model

i’m like the op, my old SE live much time to 1% battery than to decrease from 100% to 1%.

so I would like take the best new iPhone for 5 years, but the 13 pro is not enough futurproof, like no 5G mmWaves in France, no bluetooth 5.2, no wifi 6E…

now I thinks really to buy the base 13 and sell it next year without lost much on the price.

You’ll definitely see a huge difference because you actually held on to your phone versus upgrading every year. Of course the latter group of people are not going to be impressed.

I really wanted the 12 last year but my iphone X is still working great. It does need a battery replacement but i waited the extra year longest i have had a phone before ( 4 years ) so i am quite excited to get the 13. I take a lot of personal pictures so really important to me to have a nice camera. Over the last year i have really noticed poor camera and video performance with the X especially in low light.

Compared to my 12 Pro Max:

ProMotion display?
New macro ability for camera? (I've been waiting for this for years)
Even better night-mode, lenses, etc?
1TB storage?
Two and a half hours more battery life?
Even faster CPU/NeuralEngine/GPU?

Of course I'm going to be impressed :)

I guess with the new carrier trade in bonuses, owning the latest device is pretty accessible at their low monthly payment plan lol.

Man, the difference between the 7 and 13 is pretty mind-blowing. There will always be a better phone next year, but these are phenomenal phones generally speaking (although admittedly not as impressive if you're coming from a 12).
