iPhone 12 Pro no clue what to do

Data transfer went well but no clue how to activate my 12 pro so I just popped the sim card from my iphone X and put it in the 12 pro. Is that ok?

That should do it. I have ATT and that’s what I did. Both phones were unlocked, no carrier dependency.

I took the SIM card out and activated it with (Verizon). After the data transferred, I was instructed to put a SIM card in. That worked for me.
