no contacts ?????

    installed M.l. and now can't open contacts-sceen shot of message attached: so when I type in first initial of contact in Mail app, it won't work-fill in rest of contact. Screen Shot 2012-07-31 at 7.31.16 AM.png
    anyone got an idea ????

    Is the contacts app on your Desktop like the error shows?
    Move it to Applications and try again.

    No contacts

    TOOK IT OFF DESKTOP-TRASHED IT- TRIED TO OPEN THE ONE IN APPS FOLDER ON HD. DIDNT WORK. I PUT AN ALIAS OF CONTACT APP ON DESKTOP-STILL NOT OPENING.

    Question, can you see contacts in the app or it crashes when you try to open it? The second problem is mail not filling in a contact also?

    The screen shot is exactly what opens when I open contacts- no listings at all-it says there is a problem? Says to ck withe developer?
    DICKSTER-----Mail is not filling in contact either.

    Try reinstalling Contacts.app with Pacifist. You might need the ML Install app, I'm not sure.

    I like all others paid the $$ for mountain lion so I'm not paying $$ again to repair something that should work properly. Eventually I'll contact apple care which I have.
    I do thank you for your help and ideas!!!!!

    I understand, I think there is a trial period on Pacifist. It is quicker than a re-install. Apple Support will tell you to re-install ML, which maybe your best bet at this point. Maybe run disk repair, perhaps it is just a simple permissions error.

    AppleCare

    Applecare will call me tomorrow 9am.
    Probably will have to reinstall-we'll see.
    I did disk utility several times-no luck.
