Sometimes, when I turn on my computer, I have no cursor. I'm forced to turn it off (improperly) and turn it back on, then the cursor is there. So far, this has worked every time but it is a hassle. Does anyone else have this problem, or know why this is happening? I have an iMac, running El Capitan, 10.11.4. Thanks!

Do you normally turn your iMac off?
Or are you just waking it from sleep?
Wireless mouse? or
USB (wired) mouse?

If the mouse is wireless, can you get it to work by turning the mouse OFF, then back on?
If wired USB, is it plugged directly into the port on the back of the iMac? (and not an external USB hub.)
If a wired mouse, can you unplug the mouse, then plug back in?

Yeah, this only happens when I turn my computer back on after having been off, not asleep. The mouse I'm using is a wireless Magic Mouse. Today, when I turned it on, the cursor was there, so I haven't yet tried turning the mouse off & back on yet. Thanks for your reply!
